Blindwrite Reviewer's Comments
Blindwrite, the latest CD-burning software from VSO-software, is a fair CD-burning software product compared to the competition. Although Blindwrite produces an excellent copies and is easy to use and install, it lacks most of the convenient features offered by other CD-burning software products.
Blindwrite contains all of the necessary features to create an excellent CD, but is missing most of the features found in the competition. This software does not offer the option to create MP3, WAV or WMA discs; files most commonly used with music download services. The program also lacks the convenient drag and drop function which allows you to select individual tracks to copy. Another missing feature is the ability to copy portions of the CD onto a blank CD-R. With the addition of these features, Blindwrite would offer a much more competitive product.
Ease of Use:
This software received our top score in the ease of use category due to its user-friendly screen. The burning procedure is a simple, three-step process: insert the CD, allow the computer to read it, then remove it. At this point, you must insert the blank disc, find the original CD file, direct the source file to it and press the write button. The process is quick and effortless.
Ease of Installation:
Blindwrite's installation and setup process was error-free and encountered no glitches. For this reason, the software received the top score in this category.
Quality of Copy:
The quality of the copy is excellent with no perceivable distortion in audio quality and no skipping of tracks.
Help/Documentation:
Although the help documentation explains the three main features, there is no detailed description of any of them. There are also no available screenshots that aid in clarification of the written information. These would be very useful for the novice, who has no experience with CD-burning programs.
Summary:
Overall, Blindwrite produces an excellent CD copy with user-friendly installation and setup. With the addition of certain key features found in most CD-copying software and more helpful help documentation, Blindwrite would be much more competitive among the competition.
