CD–Mate from An Chen Computers produces a high–quality CD copy with a clear installation and setup process.
This program offers several convenient features common to most quality CD–burning software products, including the drag and drop function that allows you to choose only the tracks you desire, bypassing other tracks.
There are a few features that, if added, would bring CD–Mate in line with top CD burning products. The program doesn’t offer professional customization options that allow you to delete silence between tracks or fade the sound at the end of songs. Also, CD–Mate doesn’t offer a self–check feature that automatically detects incomplete songs. You’ll have to play your whole copied to listen for errors before you can be absolutely certain that the disc is correct.
Ease of Use:
This product was relatively easy to navigate. The opening screen is uncomplicated and easily understood, but we encountered some difficulty locating and understanding a few of the options. A novice may have a bit of trouble when first using the program.
Ease of Installation:
CD–Mate received a full 4 ranking for installation and setup because the process was uncomplicated and error-free.
Quality of Copy:
CD–Mate produced a high–quality audio copy with no skipping on the individual tracks.
Help/Documentation:
The help documentation was useful; each major subject is subdivided into individual topics equipped with screenshots, step–by–step instructions and an index.
Summary:
Overall, CD–Mate is a good CD–burning product that produces a high–quality copy. With the addition of a few professional editing features, CD–Mate would rank higher.
