Feature Set:  

DVD Movie Factory supports CDs, DVDs and even Blu-ray discs. You can create an MP3 music disc, plain audio CD, audio DVD and even a music DVD video. You can also rip your music CDs from the drive and convert them to MP3s. Once your music is ripped to a digital format you can then convert it to WMA, OGG or WAV. We would like to see support for AAC.

Movie Factory’s data support is actually quite impressive. Although you can simply copy and burn data files to a disc you can also create a secure data disc and even a bootable data disc for executable files.

As a bit of a burning bonus DVD Movie Factory’s video support is where this software shines. It includes complete authoring functionality and a small video editor. You can also keep it simple with a simple photo based slideshow with accompanying music. Perhaps the only addition we’d like to see here is a small photo editor. But it’s not 100% necessary.

Ease of Use:  

Although choosing a function is an easy task, the program does not offer much additional assistance during setup and isn’t very intuitive. After you select your chosen files, the copy process is straightforward and simple to execute–you press the write button to make your CDs. We received no errors in the process.

Ease of Installation:  

We didn’t encounter any errors during the installation and setup process–two easy to perform tasks.

Help/Documentation:  

Each section of DVD Movie Factory includes its own help guide and manual therefore, it is easy to find exactly what you are looking for without sifting through other features or sections of the software. Other help offered by Corel includes email support, live chat and online knowledgebase.

Corel also offers phone support; however, each call has a flat rate of $15.

Although Corel DVD Movie Factory was designed with DVD Authoring and burning in mind, it is a great, all around media burner for music, data and video. Don’t let the name fool you, this is definitely CD burning software.
